The safety and well-being of our guests and colleagues are our top priority. Our IHG® Clean Promise includes deep cleaning with hospital-grade disinfectants, and guests can expect to see enhanced procedures, which may include various ways to reduce contact throughout the hotel, social distancing measures within public spaces, and procedures based on local government ordinances.

Masks are optional, but no longer mandatory in the hotel’s public spaces. Proof of vaccination is no longer required for entry to the Nob Hill Club and Top of the Mark.
Some services and amenities have been impacted or temporarily suspended as well due to the ordinances:
- MINIBAR: Temporarily suspended. (Grab-and-go options available at Nob Hill Club).
- ROOM SERVICE: (Breakfast 6:30 am - 10:30 am) *Dinner service will return beginning Monday, Sep.12, 2022.
- FITNESS ROOM: 24hr keycard access.
The Mark Hopkins is a 100% non-smoking hotel. In compliance with California laws on fire safety, we are unable to provide more than two beds per room.
Beginning July 1, 2021, San Francisco Sales Tax will be at 8.625%.

- Reception: Reduced contact at check-in, touchless transactions, sanitizer stations, disinfected key cards, and paperless checkout.
- Guest Rooms: Visible verification of sanitized items (e.g. glassware, remote control), reduction of in-room furnishings and frequently touched items, new laundry protocols, and new technology.
- Public Spaces & Facilities: Additional deep cleaning and best practices for frequently touched surfaces, fitness center, restaurant, lounge, and other public spaces.
- Food & Beverage: New standards and service approach to buffets, banquets, room service, and catering.
